What Lucys Law means for your Bengal Cat

Do you know what Lucys Law is? From 6th April 2020 it is the law that all puppies and kittens under 6 months old are only sold by the person that has bred them.
As a buyer you should always be asking the following questions...

  • Ask to see the kittens with the mum.
  • Check the kittens age, they should not be younger than 8 weeks old
  • Make sure the seller shares the kittens health records with you, vaccinations, flea and wormer treatment, date of microchipping

Your Hobs House Bengal kitten will have been seen by our vet and vaccinated at 9 weeks and 12 weeks. The microchipping is done at 12 weeks (again by our vet). We like to keep our kittens for a few days after the 2nd vaccination, just to ensure they do not have a reaction to the 2nd vaccination. Sometimes it can cause sickness or diarrhea, so we would rather this happen with us than you! That way when you take your new Bengal kitten home there is nothing to worry about!
