What is Polycystic Kidney Disease or PKD?
Bengal cats are at low risk of Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), but that doesnt mean we (as breeders) should become complacent and not test. Its still a risk and by testing we can rule out breeding from cats that have this disease.
PKD is a genetic disorder (inherited through parents). It can cause fluid filled cysts to form in the cats kidneys. This can then go onto kidney failure. There is no cure for PKD.
Our breeding cats are clear by parentage AND we health test to ensure we only breed with bengal cats we have results for.
